WATERMILLOCK VILLAGE HALL BOOKING FORM
GUIDELINES FOR
VILLAGE HALL ‘SPECIAL PARTY’ BOOKINGS - 2010
Thank you for booking the Watermillock Village Hall for your
party or social event. We hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
In order to ensure that your event runs smoothly and avoids
causing unnecessary disturbance or other difficulty, we do ask, as a
condition of booking, that you observe some common-sense guidelines.
- You are welcome to park in the immediate grounds of the
Hall and in the adjacent field. However the road immediately outside
the Hall is narrow, has a blind bend and unlit and we must ask that
you ensure no-one parks there.
- We do ask you to keep the noise down if your party is going
on after midnight. The Hall may appear isolated but there are several
houses within a few hundred yards and residents have been disturbed in
the past. For example please arrange to let off any fireworks no
later than 10 p.m. If you have music for dancing or listening
please consider the volume. After midnight CLOSE the doors and
windows. NO music is allowed after 1.00 am and all noise
to be
kept to the minimum.
- We try to keep the cost of hiring the Hall reasonable to
encourage as much use as possible. This means we don’t have the
resources to employ an army of cleaners and tidiers-up, we rely on the
hirer to do the cleaning and tidying. Please ensure that the Hall is
restored to the condition it was in before your event by 11 a.m. the
following morning – we often have events starting on Sunday
around noon. You are responsible for providing sufficient rubbish bags
and other containers. Please clear away all rubbish and litter,
segregating waste for ease of recycling. This means separate bags or
containers for general waste, bottles, paper and card waste etc. The
bags should be left outside the kitchen door at the back of the Hall.
- Naturally you are
responsible for any damage or failing
leading to untoward expense, such as extra cleaning costs. A cheque for
£25 is required over and above the booking fee as a condition of
your booking, which will be returned in full if all conditions are met.
Thank you for your understanding.
Adherence to the above guidelines will help ensure that we can
continue to offer the Hall for events at a reasonable cost.
Non-compliance is likely to lead to higher costs, more onerous
restrictions and, in the worst case, a ban on private event bookings.
Please sign below, attach a separate cheque for £25
and along with the tear off slip, return to: Booking Clerk, Mrs Glenda
Bowman, Leeming Cottage, Watermillock, Cumbria, Penrith CA11 0JR.
